    Product Description

Rope and Rescue - Rescue Kit - 600 ft.

    What's Your Rescue Plan?

The Rope and Rescue Deluxe Tower Rescue Kit is the perfect solution for rescue after a fall. We pre-rig the kit so you don't have to puzzle through putting it together. Even if you do rescue training once-a-year, remembering how to rig the equipment in an emergency can be difficult, escpecially with OSHA requiring a "prompt rescue". The carabiners in the kit are all labelled, so it's easy to tell what-goes-where.

The kit also includes the revolutionary Anchor Bag. We thought this up, and then worked with professional tower-rescue trainers to put it together. The Anchor Bag holds all the hardware needed for the rescue, keeping it organized and out of the way until you need it. When you open the rescue kit, you see a rated strap, which you'll throw over your shoulder and start climbing. The rope pays out of the bag as you climb, so you are only carrying the rope you need for the tower rescue.

Once you get above the victim, throw the sling over the tower, and attach it to the carabiner at the top of the bag. Open up the anchor bag, and the hardware you need will self-deploy. Descend down to your victim, lift them up (kit includes three pulleys and a prusik for the lift, or you can upgrade to a pre-rigged 4:1 kit), and descend to the ground.

Our kit features Sterling HTP rope (ideal for rescue), and the popular Petzl ID (super easy to use) or the ISC D4 (easy to use and ANSI rated).

Will I have to build the kit once I get it?

Nope. We stuff the rope in the bag, and put everything together for you. That way, you don't have to take the time, and puzzle through how everything goes together.

How would I lift someone up with the pulleys in the anchor bag?

This kit includes a pre-rigged 4:1 kit with mechanical progress capture. Simply attach to the patient, pull them up, detach them from their system, then lower them back onto the pick-off strap.

I don't like the idea of leaving the kit on the ground.

When we designed the kit, we had leaving it on the ground in mind. That way you only carry up the rope you actually need for the rescue. If someone gets stuck at 50', you only carry up 50' of rope, instead of the entire kit. This isn't always possible, dpending on the rescue, so you can also carry the entire kit with you. Alternately, you can easily rig it up at the start of the day instead of leaving it on the ground.

Has there been good feedback on the kit?

Glad you asked. We've sold lots of these kits to tower companies all over the world, and they've even been used in actual rescue situations. Todd Horning, Director of Training at Safety One Training International, Inc., said "This kit contains the essentials that a technician at height needs when faced with a possible rescue"Steve Wilcox, Senior Instructor & Product Testing Manager at ComTrain, called this the "ideal kit". He said, "this package has everything needed to perform a complete pick off rescue" and "this kit [is] the ideal marriage of working equipment with rescue potential in one".

You can also check out all the great reviews of the kit by our customers.

Why did you use HTP in the kit?

HTP is a great rope for rescue because of it's low stretch. It also operates well in the ID.

What if I want a different length? Or Rope? Or Color?

We do custom kits. Just get in touch and let us know what you are looking for. There will likely be a few week leadtime for custom requests.

Why did you use the small ID instead of the large ID?

Good question. The large ID is rated NFPA G, which is the fire standard for 2 person rescues. However, if you read the directions for the small and the large ID, you'll notice that they both have the same weight capacity in a rescue situation, and they both require a redirect for extra friction. The small ID is also commonly used for rescue in the rope access industry. So, with those two facts in mind, we thought it would be better to use the small ID since it allows you to use smaller rope, making the kit lighter and less expensive. Read more here.

Of course, the kit is available in a half inch version with the large ID. Find it here.

Do I need a rescue kit?

What you need is a rescue plan. OSHA requires you to have a plan for promptly rescuing someone in case of a fall. This plan usually has two parts: training, and a tower rescue kit. We've made the kit part easy for you by making this pre-rigged kit. You'll still have to find proper training (check out a few training companies we work with here).
